Titled "The Orthodox Presbyterian Cover-up" and written by Paul M. Elliott, The reader would expect a 70,000-word Report “concerning the doctrine of justification and other related doctrines” to be a comprehensive discussion of the issues. However, the Justification Study Committee Report leaves critical issues untouched. It leaves much unsaid that must be said – inconvenient facts that the OPC’s leadership has historically denied. Part of the Committee’s mandate was to address “other related doctrines” beyond the Federal Vision and New Perspective on Paul, but the Committee has failed to do this. It does not address the false teachings and false teachers that have most seriously undermined the OPC itself. http://www.trinityfoundation.org/latest.php jrob1517@aol.com Fri, 1 Sep 2006 14:43:30 EST The Silence of the Shepherds One of the remarkable things about the current justification controversy is the silence of the most prominent and visible Presbyterian shepherds – men such as D. James Kennedy and R. C. Sproul. http://www.trinityfoundation.org/horror_show.php?id=44 jrob1517@aol.com Wed, 17 May 2006 12:52:30 EST Inquisitions, Confessionals, or Courts? Dear Friends, The May issue of The Trinity Review now appears at our website. Titled "Inquisitions, Confessionals, or Courts?" the essay analyzes the reasons many Christians have little or no respect for church courts. The chief reason is that church courts rarely act like courts, but almost always act like inquisitions or confessionals, the two perversions of church courts that characterize the Roman Catholic Church-State. The author provides illustrations using recent court actions in the PCA and OPC. Church courts, in turn, act like confessionals and inquisitions because churches have little or no respect for either rationality or justice. Their interests lie elsewhere: emotions (feelings, experience) and ecclesiastical power. If you are interested in the condition of the churches, please read "Inquisitions, Confessionals, or Courts?" http://www.trinityfoundation.org/journal.php?id=224 jrob1517@aol.com Mon, 24 Apr 2006 10:00:00 EST Calvin on the "Pericious Hypocrisy" of Justifcation by Faith and Works Dear Friends, we have posted the April Trinity Review to our website. The essay is written by Dr. Robert Reymond, Professor Emeritus at Knox Seminary in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Titled "The 'Pernicious Hypocrisy' of Justification by Faith and Works," it is a study of John Calvin's doctrine of justification. Since some of the proponents of Neolegalism, such as Peter Lillback, President of Westminster Theological Seminary, claim that Calvin's doctrine of justification differed from Luther's because Calvin included our obedience in faith, Dr. Reymond's essay is of great interest and importance. He clearly shows that Calvin excluded our obedience from faith in his doctrine of justification. http://www.trinityfoundation.org/journal.php?id=223 jrob1517@aol.com Wed, 05 Apr 2006 10:00:00 EST 2007 Christian Worldview Essay Contest Dear Friends, a reminder that The Trinity Foundation's 2007 Christian Worldview Essay Contest is now underway, and everyone who is eligible is encouraged to enter the Contest. http://www.trinityfoundation.org/2006EssayContest.php jrob1517@aol.com Wed, 01 Mar 2006 17:04:30 EST Lessons for the Lads We have just posted the February and March Trinity Reviews to our website. Titled "Lessons for the Lads," and written by Martha McElwain, daughter of one of the founding Elders of the Orthodox Presbyterian Church, "Lessons" is an account of one woman's confrontation with the administration of Westminster Theological Seminary over its false teaching of justification by works of faith. You will not want to miss "Lessons for the Lads." http://www.trinityfoundation.org/journal.php?id=222 jrob1517@aol.com Tue, 31 Jan 2006 14:43:30 EST Defending Roman Catholic Baptism John Calvin's theology has blessed millions of souls.
